About the Artist
Joey Depakakibo a.k.a. “Joey D.” is a Filipino American artist, animator and motion designer. He was born and raised in Chicago where he also received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago studying drawing, 3D animation, and traditional animation. Growing up in the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s he watched a lot of television and played many hours of video games. Reading comic books and eating tons of junk food has also messed up his brain. Trying to make sense of it all, he often finds himself escaping into his world of imaginary friends and other made up things by any means necessary. He is also a father to 2 boys, a husband, and has an alter ego as a corporate douchebag in the advertising industry.
